It’s impossible to deliver the consistent high quality our customers need without access to high-quality raw materials. That’s why we work closely with farmers, in growing programmes throughout the world, to ensure that we can secure the very best.
The careful selection, risk assessment and auditing of each partner in our supply chain is the cornerstone of our quality assurance process.
Individual growers, processors and packers must all meet our rigorous standards of environmental and social responsibility. They need to be capable too of meeting the regulatory requirements of the country or countries where the final product will be sold.
We work to the following standards and certifications, and we are able to supply product which is fully compliant.
BRC – Global Standard for Food Safety
GFSI – Global Food Safety Initiative
FSSC 22000 – Food Safety System Certification
SAI – Sustainable Agriculture Initiative
FDA – US Food and Drink Federation
RSPO – Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil
Sedex – ethical and responsible business practices in global supply chains
For example, regional technical managers provide both onsite supervision and practical support to our strawberry farmers in China, Chile and North Africa. They offer advice and help with plant varieties, cultivation, water conservation, pesticide use and farm management.
You can rest assured that your ingredients have been sustainably sourced, with full traceability back to source.
We can, for example, supply most seasonal ingredients all year round; or overcome the problem of a local crop failure. We share market intelligence, anticipate problems and work as a global team to ensure continuity of supply.
Our quality assurance teams also work closely with production colleagues to ensure that the raw materials supplied, perform as expected through the manufacturing process.
