Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting the design, operation, and implementation of process improvements in collaboration with all departments within the facility. This active role focuses on verifying Redzone and Production data, identifying process improvements, training needs, and developing training programs for all levels of Production staff. This Position reports to the CI Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various departments to develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through startup and certification.
  • Lead the deployment of continuous improvement initiatives within the plant, optimizing manufacturing processes while monitoring results and reporting progress.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools (VSM, 5S, Kaizen, etc.) to facilitate improvement projects and engage cross-functional teams.
  • Assess processes, gather measurements, and analyze data to drive decision-making.
  • Design, implement, and upgrade systems and processes to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
  • Conduct process simulations and manage cost and time constraints effectively.
  • Provide process documentation and operating instructions, ensuring compliance across all shifts and departments.
  • Create specifications for new facilities, equipment, systems, and processes.
  • Offer technical support to Production, Maintenance, and R&D teams; participate in industrial trials alongside the R&D team.
  • Ensure adherence to 5S principles when establishing new lines or equipment.
  • Perform risk assessments for new product development utilizing Salesforce.
  • Conduct daily reviews of Redzone data, adding information and addressing unresolved issues while tracking them in KPI meetings.
  • Interface with the company’s ERP system (SAP) for efficient data management.
  • Develop and standardize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions in collaboration with the Continuous Improvement Manager to enhance employee performance.
  • Address employee questions regarding processes, resolve issues, and escalate as necessary.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years working in a production environment, preferably food.
  • Experience with MS Office, Word, Excel and Powerpoint, Outlook.
  • Must be able to work with all types of food products and chemicals, including allergens.
  • Superb verbal and written communication; Spanish language is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical & critical thinker
  • Experience in process improvements

 

  • Must be able to occasionally work on different shifts to achieve training goals.
  • Familiar with GMP’s, Food Safety, and company policies including Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, etc.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules and tasks.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, specifically regarding training documentation.

Environment:

  • Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment can be loud.
  • Exposure to various food types including possible allergens.
  • Regular requirement to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
