Chaucer Foods is category leader in freeze-dried fruit for segments like snacks, drinks, cereals, and baby/toddler/kids in B2C and B2B.
The Americas team is scaling up and looking for an experienced Project & Portfolio Manager (PPM) dedicated to our B2B business to lead a portfolio of projects from start to launch. You will manage projects in multidisciplinary teams with NPD, production, sourcing, supply chain, finance, QA/RA, marketing and sales. You will be working closely with all different departments, collaborating in a global team, bringing it all together.
The Chaucer Foods team is international, collaborative, with a strong can-do mentality. Since the projects are complex, detailed, and fast-paced, it is important to have a proven record of project management and a naturally structured way of working to be successful in this role.
Role & Responsibilities
The Project & Portfolio Manager’s primary role is to manage the total portfolio of projects and lead projects from start to launch. We define Project Management as doing things right, and Portfolio Management as doing the right things. Responsibilities of the role are:
- Leading commercial projects in multidisciplinary teams internally
- Coordinating launch of new products with sales and customers externally
- Partnering with the B2C PPM on total project prioritization and strategic planning
- Managing the projects internally, and in customer portals externally
- Elements that need to be coordinated in the commercial projects are (not limited to): launch planning, new product development, cost- and sales price calculations, packaging, capacity, production planning, availability of raw materials, sample management, certifications, nutritional and ingredient statements, claims, and more.
- Generating customer and consumer insights
- Leading and coordinating regular (bi-weekly) Project Portfolio meetings
- Coordinating/engaging in trade shows, customer events and customer meetings
Requirements:
- Team player and passionate to collaborate with people
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to create smooth interpersonal relationships
- Strong multi-tasking qualities and the ability to prioritize and work independently in a virtual and fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cross functionally within the Americas and global organization
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in relevant courses
Experience:
- 8+ years of working experience in project (& portfolio) management
- Understanding of B2B, Ingredients, Food & Beverages industry
- Experienced in working with project management tools
- Skilled in translating data into customer/NPD insights
- Customer facing experience and proven successful in managing customer portals
Location:
The role is hybrid, around our US office in Forest Grove, OR, with regular travel.
