UK Management Accountant

Reporting to:                    Finance Director Baked/UKFD

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Prepare monthly accounts for UKFD (Chaucer Foods Ltd)
  • P&L, BS, cash flow (SAGE 200)
    • Approve PO’s placed by assistant accountant on SAGE
    • Review all sales and purchase invoices posted to SAGE
    • Ensure all cashbook are updated
    • Add FX rates into SAGE
    • Manage external sales commission accrual
    • Month end journals
  • Enter into consolidation system ‘Prophix’
  • Balance sheet recs
  • Review
• Production of monthly reporting pack and presentation to CFO, Group FC and Ops director
• Assist with development of Assistant accountant
• Manage the stock held in the US and UK and the stock at risk process
• Group overheads
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure overheads are managed and understood
  • Monthly review
• Weekly cash forecast
  • Prepare for UKFD
  • Review
  • Analysis to improve process and forecast accuracy
  • Submission to Group
• Quarterly Forecasts and Budget
  • Prepare P&L, BS and cash flow for UKFD
• Banking
  • Monitor and forecast cash flows
  • Requesting of payments
  • Authorise bank payments
• Monthly VAT returns
• FX management (for UKFD)
  • Forecast of FX exposure (quarterly update)
  • Review with Group FC
  • Hedge exposure in line with Chaucer FX policy
• Year end
  • Manage the year end audit (for UKFD) with external auditors
• JSOX
  • Understanding of the JSOX requirements and ensure these are effectively managed
  • Manage the JSOX audit for UKFD with external auditors
• Projects and other requirement to support the business
• Provide support and cover as and when required for Baked (Chaucer Foods UK Ltd)

Skills and experience:

• Qualified ACCA /ACA/ CIMA
• Good interpersonal skills – this role interacts with other entities within the group and other stakeholders (internal and external), building a good relationship is crucial.
• Prioritisation – a number of demands in the role with challenging deadlines.
• Strong commercial experience – need to be able to understand the numbers and able challenge and to be able to make sound recommendations and decisions.
• Attention to detail.
• Process improvements.
• Manufacturing experience desirable.
• Good technical knowledge.
