Job Summary:
The Production Manager, is a senior leader at the site, with responsible for leading, managing, and coaching a team of supervisors who manage production employees.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work safely in every case and promote safety at every interaction with associates
- Oversee a workforce of 80-100 employees and contingent workers in a manufacturing environment
- Set and communicate department and staff goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with the company’s objectives
- Promotes a continuous improvement culture and a “can do” attitude
- Promotes a culture of Respect for all
- Drives world class safety culture by promoting safety standards and ensure compliance by team
- Responsible for the production of high-quality product outputs which meet or exceed accepted standards for GMP’s and BRC requirements
- Responsible for improving productivity, cost, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas
- Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties and delegated tasks
- Ability to see the big picture and curiosity to learn new processes and technology
- Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures
- Monitor employee productivity and provide training, constructive feedback, and coaching
- Receive concerns, resolve problems and escalate as appropriate
- Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field of Food Science, Engineering or technical field or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of increasing responsibility and management skills in manufacturing operations
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership/managerial capacity
- Experience working in food manufacturing necessary
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and project management skills
- Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred
- Up to 10% travel expected
Environment:
- Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- Noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- Exposure to various food types including possible allergens.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Standard workday is Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm but must be flexible to participate on other shifts.
