Description

Chaucer Foods is category leader in freeze-dried fruit for segments like snacks, cereals, and kids in retail channels like club, grocery, and big box.

The National Sales Manager (NSM) is accountable for the achievement of account-specific goals including volume objectives, forecast accuracy, promotional execution, distribution targets, new item speed to shelf, SRP management, retail execution and distributor management. As the NSM you will deliver creative, fact-based solutions and thought leadership for your accounts. In this position you will be responsible for customer headquarter calls and managing the business flow with the broker networks on the business where applicable. This position reports to the National Sales Manager of B2C Sales.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Proven excellent track record of acquiring and developing new customers in retail Accountable for delivering annual sales budget and gross profit
  • Develop and deliver customer plans to achieve objectives within budget, and short- & long-term solutions through best practice thought leadership
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Demand Planning, and Chaucer internal teams to manage supply chain both directly and indirectly to deliver goods in timely and efficient manner
  • Will partner with the Project & Portfolio Manager on new product development
  • Will support the growth of / manage accounts for both branded (Crunchies) and private label business
  • Facilitate meetings with assigned customers to review state of the business and gain new placements
  • Build and foster relationships with key category buyers

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and story-telling ability
  • Ability to work cross functionally within the Americas and global organization
  • Travel up to 25% travel required

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of retail sales experience, with at least five years directly selling and/or providing sales support to club, mass, big box, and other national grocery retailers. (i.e., Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, Albertson, Trader Joe’s, Ahold-Delhaize, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, including PowerPoint and Excel, required
  • Experience managing grocery distributors and downstream retailers
  • The ability to craft comprehensive, fact-based selling stories through knowledge of syndicated data platforms such as (SPINs)

 Education

  • Bachelor's degreepreferred or equivalent business experience

Location

The role is remote within the United States, with regular for-purpose travel to customers, trade shows and our offices in Los Angels (Encino) and Forest Grove, OR.
