Job Summary: 

Ensure the standard of products being manufactured at Chaucer Foods Inc are compliant against agreed specifications and manage material that is not complaint through procedures.   

 Job Responsibilities: 

• Carry out online quality checks during each process step to ensure compliance with standards and regulations – IE: IQF, WIP and finished goods. 

• Initiate food safety and quality hold procedures including communication and record keeping.  

• Complete verification form for packaging materials and codes. 

• Direct observation for HACCP records for CCP monitoring of the metal detectors. 

• Take responsibility for implementation of corrective actions as assigned. 

• Enforce plant certification and regulatory requirements (FDA/ODA, Kosher, Organic, Halal). 

• Monitor and adhere to HACCP plans and prerequisite programs. 

• Collect samples for external analysis from WIP and finished goods. 

• Be responsible for daily, weekly and monthly GMP checks and floor audits. 

• Measure and monitor environmental and plant conditions, including pre-operational startup. 

• Ensure label checks for products are carried out and labels are compliant. 

• Manage equipment cleanliness controls and document – EG: ATP swabs – does this also include documenting and sharing results. 

• Report and records foreign body counts, carry out investigations of identified foreign bodies and document findings.

 Requirements: 

• 1-2 years in the food processing industry. 

• Experience in microsoft office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. 

• Excellent communication skills. 

• Ability to help solve technical problems and make data-based decisions. 

• High attention to detail. 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

• Self-motivated. 

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful. 

• 24/7 operation and must be able to work multiple shifts. 

 Environment: 

•  This position is based in an office and manufacturing setting and could include the following:  

• Involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout a shift. 

• Occasional work in extreme cold environment. 

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.  

• Regular requirement to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. 

• Must be able to regularly lift up to 15 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
