Freeze-dried figs can be used in applications such as chocolate, cakes, cheesecakes and ice cream, and they combine well with orange and raspberries. Their natural syrupy sweetness make them a ready-made inclusion for cereal, granola or bread, like gouda and green fig fougasse, for example. Figs also work well in salads – try them in a feta salad with balsamic dressing.
Freeze-dried figs have a much longer shelf life than fresh sliced fig and are available all year round.
